«We’re starting to test the new multiplayer feature on a few select games on YouTube Playables. Playables multiplayer mode allows you to play in real time with other users,” the platform administration said. YouTube has been testing mini-games in the Playables section of the app and website for more than a year—they were initially only available to premium subscribers, but the free catalog was opened to other users in May.

The Playables collection of mini-games is constantly expanding. Today, more than 130 titles are available in categories such as action, arcade puzzles, quizzes, racing, simulators and sports. In addition to YouTube, several other popular platforms, including Netflix and LinkedIn, have decided to increase user engagement through games – their users are no longer limited to watching movies and TV series or making business contacts.
