Meta Ray-Ban has a worthy rival: Solos introduced AirGo Vision smart glasses with built-in GPT-4o for $299

Solos AirGo Vision smart glasses with a built-in camera are presented, which the manufacturer positions as a direct competitor to Ray-Ban from Meta✴. AirGo Vision glasses are priced at the same $299 and offer the user an integrated OpenAI GPT-4o artificial intelligence model to recognize surrounding objects and provide help about people, objects and text that fall into the camera’s field of view.

Built-in AI allows AirGo Vision to translate text into different languages, helps with navigation and provides the owner with background information about people, animals, objects and inscriptions that are in the camera’s field of view. Solos says AirGo Vision can also be integrated with other artificial intelligence models such as Google Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude.

Like the Ray-Ban Meta✴ Smart Glasses, the AirGo Vision can take photos on demand. The interchangeable frame system allows you to use the glasses with or without a camera – the battery and touch sensors used to control the device are housed in the USB Type-C rechargeable temples of the glasses, allowing audio-only functionality when used with standard AirGo frames without a camera.

«One of our promises that we have delivered is to allow consumers to control their experience with AI and smart technologies, especially taking into account privacy parameters,” said Solos co-founder Kenneth Phan. “That’s why we designed frames that can be easily swapped out to decide when and where the camera fits, without sacrificing any of the fun features.”

AirGo Vision can be purchased in a camera-less version for $149, or in a set of two frames – with and without a camera – for $349. The glasses are available in seven colors. There are two frame options available: the larger Krypton 1 and the sleeker Krypton 2.
