Valve has added a new hero to Deadlock – a Soviet spy who is trying to resurrect Catherine the Great

The developers from the Valve studio are in no hurry to release their hero shooter Deadlock from closed alpha testing, but continue to improve and expand the game – a recent update added another hero to the action movie.

For testing experimental heroes in the Hero Labs mode, Raven is now available – a spy dressed to the nines, trying to bring the leader of the Soviet Empire, Catherine the Great, back to life.

«The spirit of Catherine the Great led the Soviet Empire to flourish in a brave new world of mysticism. And although her true motives are hidden from the world stage, one thing is for sure – she hates being a ghost,” says Raven’s biography.

In New York, an operative is looking for a way to infuse Catherine’s spirit into a mortal shell.

Raven’s main weapon is a gun disguised as an umbrella, which the operative can use to soar above the arena. The hero’s stun grenade slows down enemies and increases the amount of damage they receive from behind by 70%.

Crow’s key skill curses enemy characters (at first they are simply slowed down and take damage over time) if they look at the hero for too long.

Raven Abilities Overview

In addition to Raven, the recent patch brought about 300 more changes to Deadlock, almost half of which relate to the balance of heroes. The full list of fixes and improvements can be found on Steam.

Deadlock doesn’t have a release date yet, but it does have a Steam page. At this stage, the game is available by invitation only. Battles take place in a 6v6 format on a four-line MOBA-style map.
