Exactly a week has passed since Pat Gelsinger was asked to leave Intel, which he headed for the past almost four years. Retaining the ability to speak out through social media after his early retirement, the former CEO called on fellow believers to pray and fast for the sake of a stable future for Intel employees.
Last Sunday, Gelsinger addressed his subscribers with the following appeal: “Every Thursday I spend the whole day in prayer and fast. This week I would like to invite you to join me in praying and fasting for the 100,000 Intel employees as they go through a difficult time. Intel and its people are very important to the entire industry and the United States.”
Let us recall that in August, under Gelsinger, Intel made a difficult decision, against the backdrop of increasing losses, to cut about 15% or 15,000 of its staff, and in this area it acted quickly and without much sentimentality. Now, having found himself behind Intel, where he devoted almost his entire adult life to work, Patrick Gelsinger began to empathize with the employees who still retained their jobs. However, Gelsinger’s own resignation is intended to help Gelsinger more easily bear the substantial payments from Intel, which over the next few months could reach $10 million.
