The concentration of several dynamically developing companies in the hands of Elon Musk leads to their mutual integration, and the Grok chatbot has long been available to subscribers of the social network X, and yesterday it reached free users. The former’s functionality has recently been complemented by the new Aurora image generator, which is capable of creating photorealistic images, albeit not without its shortcomings.
The beta version of the Aurora image generator, as TechCrunch notes, became available to users of the social network X on the Grok tab yesterday. Access to these features does not require a subscription, but has limitations in the free version. In particular, without a subscription, you cannot send more than 10 requests to the Grok chatbot in two hours, and the number of images generated by Aurora is limited to three per day. By the way, some X users have already discovered that they are deprived of access to Aurora. This image generator is officially in beta version.
This is xAI’s second image generator for Grok. If in the case of the first, Flux, Elon Musk’s startup collaborated with other developers, then the origin story of the second, Aurora, has not yet been revealed. At least, representatives of xAI only managed to state that they took part in setting up this system. Users of the social network X began to post samples of images generated by Aurora, in one of them you can see Adam Sandler and his partner in the series Ray Romano, and if the faces of the actors in the generated images turned out to be similar to real ones, then with fingers The image generator encountered traditional problems. As noted, Aurora produces landscapes and still lifes much better, but even there it is not without defects.
