When creating the Seasonic Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition power supply, Noctua developed an unusual grille for its 120mm fan that reduces noise levels. Now anyone can acquire the same grille completely free of charge. But for this you need to have a 3D printer.

Noctua on its page on the social network X said that it published on the website with 3D printing models Printables all the necessary documentation for making a “miracle grille” for a fan using a 3D printer or laser cutting machine.

According to Noctua, the special fan grille “provides smooth pressure gradients as the fan blades pass through the radial struts.” This provides greater airflow and reduces noise levels by approximately 2 dBA compared to the standard Seasonic PSU grille.

Documentation for manufacturing the 120mm grille is distributed by Noctua under a Creative Commons 4.0 license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). It allows you to make changes to the design and share the result with others for non-commercial purposes. True, the new product will have to be distributed under the same license as the original, that is, CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

The original version of the Seasonic Prime TX-1600 power supply is currently on sale for $539.99. For the Noctua Edition you will have to pay an additional $30. It differs from the original model with Noctua’s signature colors, a 120mm quiet and efficient Noctua NF-A12x25 fan and a custom fan grille.

Noctua has previously shared other models for making accessories using a 3D printer. For example, the company published a 3D model of the NV-AA1-12 Airflow Amplifier housing, which allows you to turn a regular 120mm Noctua fan into the NV-FS1 desktop fan, offered for $100. In addition, the company shared 3D models of the NA-FD1 Fan Duct kit to improve the efficiency of its Noctua NH-L9i and NH-L9a coolers when working in SFF format computer cases, as well as the NA-FMA1 adapter, which increases the size of the 120 mm fan frame to 140 mm.
