Samsung intends to show its first smart glasses in January – the preliminary announcement will take place as part of the presentation of smartphones from the flagship Galaxy S25 line. At the event dedicated to the Galaxy S25, Samsung does not plan to make a full announcement of smart glasses, but will limit itself to photographs or a video presentation. Similarly, the company showed off the Galaxy Ring smart rings at the Unpacked presentation in January earlier this year, then talked about them in more detail in February at the MWC exhibition, and only in July made a full announcement of them together with the new generation of foldable devices.

It is noteworthy that the XR software platform on which the glasses will work will be introduced to the public in December. Samsung is developing this platform jointly with Google and Qualcomm – they first announced the project back in February last year. Smart glasses from Samsung will do without a display, and their weight will be 50 g; in many ways they replicate the Ray-Ban Meta✴ device. An important part of the software platform will be the Google Gemini artificial intelligence system; A number of additional features are also expected, including gesture recognition and the ability to make payments. The presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S25, according to unconfirmed reports, will take place on January 22 – at the same time a preliminary announcement of smart glasses is expected.
