Valve has presented statistics on the computer configurations of Steam users for November. The past month has been marked by an increase in the popularity of gaming laptops, especially models with a discrete GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, which may soon become the most popular on the platform. Two AMD video cards, released more than a year ago, also appeared in the statistics for the first time, and “red” processors continue to eat away the share of Intel chips.
In the graphics segment, the mobile RTX 4060 showed the greatest increase in popularity (+0.6 percentage points). It is only 0.11 percentage points behind the most popular video card on the platform – the desktop GeForce RTX 3060. In second place in terms of popularity growth dynamics was again the mobile RTX 3060 (+0.24 p.p.), and in third place was the desktop RTX 3050 (+0.23 p.p.).
The latest Steam statistics include the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT (released in August 2023) and Radeon RX 6750 GRE 10GB (released in October 2023) video cards. Both showed an increase in popularity of 0.17 percentage points. AMD’s most popular video card, the Radeon RX 6600, is only in 32nd place on the list with a share of 0.83% of users. Over the month, its popularity increased by 0.07 percentage points. The share of Intel Arc mobile graphics on the platform is 0.19%. Over the month, its popularity increased by only 0.01 percentage points.
The popularity of the GeForce RTX 3060 video card, the leader of the list, dropped by 0.73 percentage points over the past month. Its current user share on the platform is 5.03%. The mobile GeForce RTX 4060 is already breathing down its neck with a share of 4.92% of users.
In November, the share of owners of AMD processors on the Steam platform increased by almost 2 percentage points. and now stands at 35.7% – a record for the company. Problems with Intel Raptor Lake chips and the cold reception of the new Core Ultra 200S processors, combined with the release of the amazing gaming Ryzen 7 9800X3D, certainly influenced the figures of the latest statistics.
The Windows 11 operating system continues to gain popularity among Steam users and retains its title as the most popular OS on the platform. The share of its users has grown over the past month by more than 4 percentage points, while the popularity of Windows 10 has decreased by a similar amount. Considering that support for the old OS will be discontinued in less than a year, we can expect its popularity on the platform to continue to decline.
Otherwise, Steam statistics over the past month have changed slightly. Although it is interesting to note that the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset (later renamed Meta✴ Quest 2), which has been the most popular virtual reality device for many years, is losing its edge as the Meta✴ Quest 3 continues to grow in popularity.
