It is expected that motherboards with the AMD B850 chipset will go on sale early next year, and the first models should be officially presented at the January CES 2025 exhibition. A month before the start of this event, the first “live” photos of a motherboard with the B850 chipset appeared on the Internet. This may indicate that they have already started arriving at some retailers.
We are talking about the Gigabyte B850M Aorus Elite WIFI6E Ice motherboard, which is made in the Micro-ATX form factor and is equipped with the new AMD B850 chipset, which is the successor to the B650 and B650E. Judging by the published images, the motherboard has a pair of PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 5.0 x4 connector for connecting an M.2 drive.
The board is also equipped with four slots for connecting DDR5 RAM modules. It is noted that this model has full support for overclocking the processor and memory frequencies. Apparently, a 24+8-pin connector is used to power the board. Since this model is part of the Ice line of boards, it is completely made in white.
The user who shared pictures of the motherboard claims that he was able to purchase it from one of the local retailers, but does not specify in which country. How much he had to pay for the new product is also unknown.
