The integration of data from Waze into Google Maps is being carried out gradually and soon all users of the platform will be able to see data on accidents and the general situation on the roads.

In the middle of the year, Google announced a redesigned reporting user interface in Google Maps for Android, iOS, Android Auto, CarPlay and Android Automotive, and its rollout began in the fall. At the same time, the developers announced that reports on the traffic situation are generated based on data from their own mapping service, as well as the Waze application.
Waze later confirmed that the service data will appear in Google Maps. At the initial stage, the service will transmit information about the location of police patrols on the roads, and later other data. “We’re excited for more drivers to see reports coming from Waze. This would not be possible without our partnership with Geo, where we are committed to providing drivers with the most comprehensive map data possible through bi-directional data exchange,” Waze said in a statement.
This integration works as follows: a message appears on the device screen stating that one of the Waze users has reported the location of a police patrol further down the road. At the same time, it is proposed to confirm the presence or report the absence of police officers in this area. Thus, patrol location data is regularly updated due to messages from different service users.
