MSI will release not one, but two new portable gaming consoles in the Claw series. The Amazon online trading platform has revealed the full specifications of the new products – MSI Claw 8 AI+ and MSI Claw 7 AI+. Both consoles offer Intel Lunar Lake processors and are available for pre-order now.
The MSI Claw 8 AI+ is available in two configurations: Core Ultra 7 258V and Core Ultra 7 256V. Both chips received four large Lion Cove cores and four small Skymont cores. Also, both processors are equipped with integrated Arc 140V graphics based on eight Xe2 cores. The manufacturer claims 16 or 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM for the console (for the Core Ultra 7 256V and Core Ultra 7 258V, respectively), as well as a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive.
MSI Claw 8 AI+ has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 500 cd/m2. The weight of the device is 794 grams. The new product supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and is equipped with an 80 Wh battery.
The dimensions of the console are 29.9 × 12.26 × 2.4 cm. The cost of MSI Claw 8 AI+ in a configuration with a Core Ultra 7 258V processor and 1 TB SSD is $899. According to Amazon, the console will be released on December 25th.
The MSI Claw 7 AI+ model will be offered in only one configuration: with a Core Ultra 7 258V processor, 32 GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM and 512 GB PCIe 4.0 storage.
The console received a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 GHz, VRR support and a brightness of 500 cd/m2.
The more compact console supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, and is also equipped with a 53 Wh battery. Visually, the MSI Claw 7 AI+ is practically no different from the Claw 7 model based on Intel Meteor Lake (Core Ultra 100) processors. The weight of the new device is 675 grams, like its predecessor. The dimensions of the MSI Claw 7 AI+ have also not changed – 29.4 × 11.7 × 2.1 cm. The new product is expected to go on sale on December 1. The MSI Claw 7 AI+ will cost $799.
