Polish publisher and developer 11 bit studios shared in a publication on the Steam website the development plan for its urban planning strategy with survival elements Frostpunk 2 until 2026.
According to the developers, the team has worked tirelessly to provide users with the best possible experience with Frostpunk 2, and their journey is not over yet – there is a lot of interesting things ahead.
By the end of 2024, 11 bit studios still plans to release a major patch 1.2 (version 1.1 was released in October), and at the beginning of 2025 a large-scale content update (free) should be released for Frostpunk 2.
A special place on the Frostpunk 2 roadmap is occupied by April 24, 2025 – on this day the original Frostpunk will turn five years old. A significant date is marked with a treasure index – perhaps the developers are preparing something special.
In addition, the release of Frostpunk 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X and S is expected in 2025, as well as the release of two of the three add-ons (codenamed Spectrum and Aurora). The last addon will be released in 2026.
The developers have assured that they want to continue to maintain transparency in the Frostpunk 2 development process, so they are committed to adding new details to the roadmap and sharing behind-the-scenes content.
Frostpunk 2 was released in September on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store) and on PC Game Pass. Sales have already exceeded 500 thousand copies – the success of the game helped 11 bit studios make the first nine months of 2024 the best in the company’s history.
