The success of Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios is beyond doubt, but the Belgian studio continues to keep specific indicators secret. The secrets of the developers of the fantasy RPG were revealed by the Irish newspaper Irish Independent.
As the Irish Independent reports, citing a report from the Dublin holding company Larian, the studio’s revenue in 2023 (when Baldur’s Gate 3 left early access) reached €427 million. In 2022, the same figure was €22.7 million.
Meanwhile, Larian Studios’ pre-tax profit for the same time period rose to €249 million. For comparison, in 2022 the studio recorded a loss of €214 thousand.
In February, Larian reported that the game’s audience was “significantly larger” than 10 million people, and in March, studio head Swen Vincke said that the project was almost twice as successful as Divinity: Original Sin 2 (7.5 million copies, according to fan estimates ).
Larian is currently working on two “highly ambitious RPGs.” To implement the plans, the studio opened a new division – it was called Larian Studios Warsaw and is located in the Polish capital.
