Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of situations where the success of the entire mission depends on the player in battle. But is it possible to complete a fantasy RPG without taking any action at all in battles? Blogger Proxy Gate Tactician decided to answer this question with almost 1800 hours in the project from Larian Studios. Warning: possible spoilers.
As part of the challenge at the start of the battle, the Proxy Gate Tactician character and all allies are prohibited from moving, attacking, using items, healing, and the spell book. Of course, inaction in a battle leads to loss, so the blogger had to resort to tricks.
The main tools of Proxy Gate Tactician were invisibility, a magical hand (can “kidnap” characters), safety mechanics (helped to get an unmined Netherian stone) and a developer room with plot items and NPCs, where the blogger teleports with Orin both times.
Before the decisive battle at the end of the third act, Withers wonders how Proxy Gate Tactician managed not to enlist the support of at least one ally, and in the battle itself, the final boss blows up the explosive barrels carefully placed in front of him with his own attack, guaranteeing his own death.
Baldur’s Gate 3 left early access on August 3, 2023 on PC (Steam, GOG), and subsequently reached Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. In the past, Proxy Gate Tactician showed how to beat the fantasy RPG from a first-person view, playing as the world’s unluckiest man and a cat.
