Tecno has announced the budget smartphone Pop 9, which was previously launched in African markets with the Unisoc T615 chip. Now this model is entering the markets of other countries, but with a different hardware base.
The developers equipped the Pop 9 with a 6.67-inch LCD display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, which supports HD+ resolution. At the top of the display there is a hole that houses the 8-megapixel front camera. Support for an analogue of Apple’s Dynamic Island has been implemented. This may allow some animations and notifications to appear in the area around the front camera. The main 13-megapixel camera is complemented by phase detection autofocus and LED flash.
The hardware basis of the smartphone is the eight-core MediaTek Helio G50 microprocessor combined with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage. Autonomous operation is ensured by a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. The design includes an IR transmitter, thanks to which the smartphone can act as a universal remote control.
Tecno Pop 9 will be available in black, white and light green color options. The retail price of the new item is only $80. The smartphone will go on sale this month.
