Lenovo announced the ThinkSystem SC750 V4 Neptune server at the SC24 high-performance computing conference in Atlanta, designed for technical computing and data analytics in a variety of areas such as analytics, scientific research, energy, engineering and financial modeling.
Each node can be equipped with six EDSFF E3.S NVMe SSD drives with a total capacity of up to 92.16 TB. There are two 25GbE SFP28 network ports based on the Broadcom 57414 controller, one 1GbE RJ45 port based on Intel I210, two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots. Dimensions are 546x53x760 mm, weight – 37.2 kg. It talks about compatibility with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Ubuntu, etc.
Lenovo Neptune direct liquid cooling is used. Compared to a similar air-cooled system, the ThinkSystem SC750 V4 Neptune is said to provide up to a 10% increase in overall performance by constantly running the processors in turbo mode. At the same time, data center energy consumption from servers can be reduced by 40%, while fan noise is completely eliminated.
Eight ThinkSystem SC750 V4 Neptune trays can be installed in a ThinkSystem N1380 13U chassis for a total of 16 nodes. The chassis can be equipped with four 80 PLUS Titanium certified Power Conversion Stations (PCS).
