The Chinese company Xiaomi has officially introduced a new smartphone under the Redmi brand – an entry-level budget device with support for fifth-generation communication networks called Redmi A4 5G.

The new product is equipped with a 6.88-inch display with support for a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels (HD+). A panel with an aspect ratio of 20:9, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 600 cd/m² is used. At the top of the display there is a waterdrop-shaped notch in which a 5-megapixel front camera (f/2.2) is installed. The main camera combines a 50-megapixel sensor (f/1.8) with a depth sensor.

The hardware basis of the Redmi A4 5G is the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 microprocessor (two Kryo A78 cores with a frequency of up to 2.0 GHz and six Kryo A55 cores with a frequency of up to 1.8 GHz), which is manufactured using a 4 nm process technology. The Adreno 611 accelerator is responsible for graphics processing. The configuration is complemented by 4 GB of RAM and a 64 or 128 GB drive. You can expand the disk space using a microSD memory card up to 1 TB. The power source is a 5160 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 18 W. A USB Type-C interface is provided to connect the charger.

The design includes wireless adapters Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 5.3. There is a signal receiver for GPS and GLONASS satellite systems. The smartphone runs on the Android 14 software platform with the proprietary HyperOS interface. The fingerprint scanner is located on the side of the case. Redmi A4 5G has dimensions of 171.88 × 77.80 × 8.22 mm and weighs 212 g. Buyers will be able to choose between black and light purple body color options. The cost of a smartphone with 64 GB of memory will be about $100, and for the version with a 128 GB drive it will cost $112.
