«Yandex has expanded the range of devices responsible for lighting in a smart home system. The company presented new light bulbs and updated versions of old models, smart wired and wireless switches, as well as relays – all these devices are capable of operating as part of a smart home system even in the absence of the Internet.

Yandex’s range of smart light bulbs previously included four models – now the company has released updated versions of them with support for the standard Matter over Wi-Fi protocol. Three new ones have also appeared: an RGB lamp with a GX53 base for suspended ceilings; filament light bulb with E27 base with cold and warm light for open chandeliers and designer lamps; updated RGB bulb with E27 and increased brightness for large spaces with one light source.

All of them support the Matter protocol and work on a Wi-Fi network, even if the Internet is turned off. A simple connection via the Matter protocol allows you to add several light bulbs at a time to your smart home system. New light control functions have appeared: with the “dawn” mode it will be easier to wake up in the morning in autumn and winter, “sunset” will help you fall asleep in the evening, and the circadian mode suggests a change in shade during the day.

The Yandex smart home system was supplemented with wired and wireless smart switches. They are available in one- and two-key versions and operate via the Zigbee wireless protocol, thanks to which the wireless option does not require battery replacement for several years. One two-position button on the switch handles single, double and long presses – this means that up to six actions can be programmed on a one-button switch, and up to twelve on a two-button switch.

A wireless switch can be installed anywhere in the house without being connected to an electrical outlet – it is useful for controlling smart devices when issuing a voice command is not convenient. The wired one is suitable for standard round socket boxes and in the basic version controls only the device connected to it, but it can be switched to wireless mode and run any other of the available scenarios.

If switches are already installed in the interior, you can use smart relays. The relay is placed directly behind the switch and connected with or without a neutral. It provides access to smart home functions: voice and app control, scheduled operation, and inclusion in scenarios in conjunction with smart sensors. The relay also works with the Zigbee protocol. Yandex also announced plans to develop smart home technologies – the company will offer solutions in the field of climate and security automation.
