The spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead will receive a sequel – the actor “lit” Back 4 Blood 2

When, at the beginning of 2023, Californian Turtle Rock Studios (Left 4 Dead) curtailed active support for the cooperative zombie shooter Back 4 Blood, it did so for the sake of its new game. Now it seems that it has become clear what kind of project we are talking about.

As noted by the MP1st portal, Canadian actor and stuntman Jesse Hutch, who worked on motion capture for Back 4 Blood, indicated on his resume that he is involved in another Turtle Rock Studios project.

The mysterious game, in which Hutch is listed as the “lead performer” (we are talking again about motion capture), is listed on the artist’s resume under the code name Gobi 2. The original Back 4 Blood was known as Gobi before the announcement.

In other words, behind the guise of Turtle Rock Studios’ next big game is a sequel, Back 4 Blood. This is indicated by the website back4blood2.com, registered last spring (and still active).

Gobi is the name of a bearded dragon who was the mascot of Turtle Rock Studios until his death in 2018.

Let’s remember that Back 4 Blood was positioned as a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. Instead of survivors there are cleaners, and instead of zombies there are possessed people. There is also an invisible AI fight director.

Back 4 Blood debuted on October 12, 2021 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. During active support, the game received three additions.

The project was not able to conquer gamers and critics, as Left 4 Dead did 13 years before it, but the cooperative shooter registered 10 million players (however, largely thanks to Game Pass).
