The release of the post-apocalyptic open-world shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl from the GSC Game World studio is already around the corner, but there are still no reviews of the game. An employee of the Insider Gaming portal clarified when to expect reviews from Western critics.
As Insider Gaming senior editor Grant Taylor-Hill explained in two X-platform posts (one deleted), the embargo on publishing reviews of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will drop on November 20 at 17:00 Moscow time.
Official release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is scheduled to release on November 20 at 19:00 Moscow time (see official image below), which is just two hours after the publication of reviews of the game.
Gamers were bothered by the journalist’s information. Practice shows that developers and publishers agree to lift the embargo in advance in anticipation of the release of a product when they are really confident in it.
However, according to Taylor-Hill, fans have nothing to worry about. According to Insider Gaming’s senior editor, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 could be in contention for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024.
Taylor-Hill complained that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is coming out too late to be nominated for The Game Awards 2024, but that’s not the case: according to official information, the 2024 deadline is November 22.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on November 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. Apparently, some players got their hands on the shooter ahead of time.
