Texas studio Ruckus Games, founded by veterans of Gearbox Software, Bethesda Softworks, Riot Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Monolith Productions and Epic Games, announced it has raised $19 million to develop its debut game.
At the head of Ruckus Games and the “secret” multiplayer action game that the studio is developing is Paul Sage, the former creative director of Borderlands 3 and The Elder Scrolls Online.
«We want games where we don’t have to wait for the fun to start. Which are material, cheerful and damn good to play with others,” Sage said in a press release.
The Ruckus Games project is a cooperative action game for four. Players will take on the role of ordinary people forced to become heroes when their town in the American outback is attacked by mysterious forces.
Gamers will have to fight their way through enemies, destroying everything in their path, collect resources, do crafting, save NPCs, level up their character and develop their hometown.
They promise an ever-changing world, a wide selection of heroes, thousands of combinations of homemade weapons (like a toaster that shoots saw blades), a unique visual style and exciting gameplay.
Ruckus Games’ ambitious co-op action game doesn’t yet have a title or release date. The studio plans to involve fans in the development – those interested can sign up as volunteers for future testing.
