The Swedish holding Thunderful Group, which includes both publishers (Coatsink and Thunderful) of the retro-futuristic action platformer Replaced from Sad Cat Studios, has again clarified when to expect the release of the game.
Let’s remember that in the past, Thunderful Group twice (in two different financial reports) “predicted” the postponement of Replaced to 2024 before the official announcement. The game is currently scheduled for release in 2025.
As social media users have noticed, Thunderful Group’s financial report for the third quarter of the current calendar year provides a list of the company’s releases along with release dates—Replaced is among them.
According to the Thunderful Group document, Replaced will go on sale during the second half of 2025, that is, from July to December. Sad Cat Studios has not yet commented on the situation.
At the announcement of the transfer of Replaced until 2025, the developers called the previous release date (2024) too optimistic and admitted that they “need more time to achieve their quality standards and meet the expectations of fans.”
The events of Replaced will unfold in an alternative America of the 1980s. Players in the role of R.E.A.C.H. – an AI locked in a human body – must challenge the corruption and crime of Phenix City, and also find his place in the world.
Replaced is being created for PC (Steam, EGS, GOG, Microsoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X, S and Game Pass. In mid-August, the developers showed more than 10 minutes of the game with three different gameplay segments.
