Although most of CD Projekt Red is already occupied by Polaris, the first “Witcher” of the new trilogy, the studio is in no hurry to share details of the game. A new leak has lifted the veil of secrecy over the project.
As noted by Reddit forum user KekanKok, British actor Jake Lampert recently mentioned his work on Polaris (more precisely, The Witcher 4: Polaris) in his online resume.
According to an entry on the Spotlight website, Lampert plays a certain Branko in The Witcher 4 – this is the first character, not counting Geralt of Rivia, whose appearance in the future RPG became known. Who he is, of course, is still unclear.
It is worth noting that Lampert’s role is announced for 2025. In other words, this is when, according to the leak, CD Projekt Red plans to take on voice acting and motion recording for The Witcher 4.
In August, CD Projekt reported that the Polaris team had grown to 410 people (out of CDPR’s 639 employees), had made “significant progress” and planned to begin active development before the end of 2024.
In October 2022, CD Projekt hinted that The Witcher 4 would not be released until 2025, but analysts are more pessimistic: they see the release in 2026 or even 2027.
Polaris is a large open-world RPG powered by Unreal Engine 5. While the game appears to be being called The Witcher 4 internally by CDPR, it may not be called that at release.
