A team of enthusiasts from Icebreaker Industries announced the release date of Project Borealis: Prologue, the prologue/demo of their version of Half-Life 3. The announcement was accompanied by a 50-second final trailer.
Let us remind you that Project Borealis: Prologue was officially presented in mid-September after several years of silence on the part of the team and was expected to be released during the fall of this year.
As it became known, Project Borealis: Prologue will be released on the Steam digital distribution service next week, November 11. The release will take place at 20:00 Moscow time. Like the full game in the future, the prologue will be distributed free of charge.
Project Borealis: Prologue will invite players to once again step into Gordon Freeman’s protective suit and look into the next chapter of his adventures – in Ravenholm, transformed by time and the elements.
They promise an independent gaming experience, a faithful recreation of the mechanics of Half-Life 2 (including movement), reimagining of classic enemies and new secrets, graphics using Unreal Engine 5, as well as an original soundtrack.
As for the main game, Project Borealis is a project based on the Epistle 3 story published in 2017 by former series writer Marc Laidlaw with a veiled plot of the failed Half-Life 3.
According to Epistle 3, after the events of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance were to go to Antarctica in search of the research vessel Northwind, which was hiding technologies desired by the Alliance.
