Publisher Take-Two Interactive, in its report for the second quarter of the current fiscal year, denied recent rumors about the transfer of the hotly anticipated open-world crime thriller GTA VI from Rockstar Games.
Let’s remember that since May GTA VI has been officially announced for next fall, but in mid-September billsyliamgta from GTA Base reported, citing “several developers in two studios,” that Rockstar had postponed the release to the first half of 2026.
Following this, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, citing interviewed Rockstar employees, did not confirm this information. At the same time, there have still been no official comments on the topic.
According to a new report from Take-Two, GTA VI is still planned for release on PS5, Xbox Series X and S in the fall of 2025. Confirmation can be seen in the company’s current calendar of future releases (see image below).
Take-Two expects that fiscal 2026 will be a landmark year for it – in addition to “GTA VI in the fall of 2025,” the corporation is going to release a number of other blockbusters, including Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country.
Meanwhile, fans on the Reddit forum, hungry for new footage of GTA VI, are trying to calculate the timing of the premiere of the next trailer for the game based on the phases of the moon (bets are placed on November 17) – last year’s theory was confirmed.
The first and so far only trailer for GTA VI was released in December 2023. The one and a half minute video set several records and last summer reached 200 million views (already 217 million) on YouTube.
