French 3D modeler and animator Maxime Foulquier, who last winter amazed players with the vision of a remake of Bloodborne on Unreal Engine 5, took on a new project based on the gothic action game from the FromSoftware studio.

According to the IGN portal, due to fear of the copyright holder, Sony Interactive Entertainment, the enthusiast refused to develop a remake of Bloodborne – the original video was blocked for copyright infringement.

As a result, Foulquier decided to focus on a less ambitious task. His new game is called Bloodborne Top Down Arena and is a 3D top-down action game that IGN compares to Diablo.

The 26-second video published by Foulquier demonstrates the recognizable gameplay of Bloodborne from an unusual angle: the maddened inhabitants of Yharnam attack the Hunter from different sides, and the hero deals with them using a saw-axe.

Foulquier is aware of what happened with the latest Bloodborne fan game, but hopes to avoid problems – unlike Nightmare Kart (formerly Bloodborne Kart), Bloodborne Top Down Arena is not planned for release on Steam.

Despite fears of incurring the wrath of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Foulquier impressed Bloodborne fans with his Bloodborne Top Down Arena demo. “This is great,” said user asiquealam.

While Foulquier is busy reinventing Bloodborne, the developers of shadPS4 continue to improve the compatibility of their PS4 emulator with the original game. In September, the utility was already doing a good job.
