The creator of Stardew Valley has revealed the cause of performance problems after update 1.6 – pets in hats are to blame

Finally reaching consoles and mobile devices, patch 1.6 for the farming simulator Stardew Valley brought with it several problems, including performance drops. However, the game developer has a solution.

Game creator Eric Barone, better known under the pseudonym ConcernedApe, spoke about the potential negative impact of 1.6 on the performance of Stardew Valley on his microblog.

ConcernedApe advised those affected by drops in performance to take off the hats from all pets – this should neutralize the negative effect. The developer promised to “get to the bottom of the issue as soon as possible.”

While fans wait for a solution, Baron revealed the story behind the problems: “There are rumors of a strange rash affecting the ears of pets in Zuzu Town. We just want to make sure those ears can breathe freely for the next few days.”

In addition, after update 1.6.9, users were also haunted by the disappearance of chickens on the new meadow farm. According to the “legend” (Baron is also responsible for it), they were abducted by an invisible coyote. The injustice was corrected in 1.6.10.

Meanwhile, with the release of 1.6, multiplayer appeared in the version of Stardew Valley for mobile devices, but it is still experimental. To access it you need to use the Konami code on the leaves in the main menu of the game (see official instructions).

Update 1.6 debuted on the PC version of Stardew Valley last spring. The patch includes new festivals, items, recipes, lines, the ability to consume mayonnaise and much more.
