Let’s remember that Hogwarts Legacy became the best-selling game of 2023 and, as of January 2024, had sold over 24 million copies around the world – this was also reported in Variety.

As Variety reports now, in October 2024, total sales of Hogwarts Legacy surpassed 30 million copies. The game is available on PC (Steam, EGS), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, as well as Nintendo Switch.

It was previously reported that a director’s cut is in development for Hogwarts Legacy, which will offer about 10-15 hours of additional content – albeit for money (from $20 to $30, according to rumors).

As for Hogwarts Legacy 2, the sequel was confirmed by the CFO of Warner Bros. in September. Discovery Gunnar Wiedenfels. According to him, the game “is one of our main priorities for the next couple of years.”

In an interview with Variety, Haddad revealed that some of the narrative elements of the Hogwarts Legacy sequel will overlap with the upcoming Harry Potter series from HBO, which is expected to premiere in 2026.

Haddad added that the huge success of Hogwarts Legacy has given the company confidence to move the franchise forward on a large scale right now: a number of projects based on Harry Potter are in production in different formats.
