Project Borealis: Prologue has acquired a page on Steam – new screenshots of the demo version of the fan version of Half-Life 3 on Unreal Engine 5

Returning after several years of silence, the Project Borealis team from Icebreaker Industries announced the opening of the Project Borealis: Prologue page on Steam, a prologue/demo of the unofficial version of Half-Life 3.

It was previously reported that the events of the prologue will unfold on the snowy streets of Ravenholm before the start of the Project Borealis story. The release of the demo was expected (and is still expected) before the end of autumn.

«This prologue invites players to once again step into the protective suit of Gordon Freeman and look into the next chapter of his adventures,” reads the description of Project Borealis: Prologue on Steam.

In Ravenholm, transformed by time and the elements, players will face reimagined classic enemies and brand new secrets buried under a blanket of snow.

The developers promise an independent gaming experience, a faithful recreation of the mechanics of Half-Life 2 (including movement), completely redesigned graphics on Unreal Engine 5 and an original soundtrack.

Let us remind you that Project Borealis is a game based on the Epistle 3 story published in 2017 by former series screenwriter Marc Laidlaw with a veiled plot of the failed Half-Life 3.

According to Epistle 3, after the events of Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance were to go to Antarctica in search of the research vessel Northwind, which was hiding technologies desired by the Alliance.
