Bloggers disassembled the PlayStation 5 Pro and revealed its characteristics ahead of the start of sales

In just a few days, sales of the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro gaming console will start, which has significantly higher performance compared to the standard PlayStation 5. On the eve of this event, the authors of the TAG YouTube channel published a video disassembling the new console, confirming some of the device’s specifications, and also discovered interesting feature.

The video confirms that the PlayStation 5 Pro makes it easier to access the CMOS battery. This means that if you encounter problems that require a factory reset, it will be easier to do so. For comparison, to access the battery in the PlayStation 5, the console must be almost completely disassembled.

The console is equipped with an AMD Ryzen processor with eight Zen 2 cores. This means that Sony has not updated the processor in the PlayStation 5 Pro to a more current version with Zen4 or Zen5 cores. Despite this, the Pro version of the console boasts a significantly more powerful graphics subsystem. The manufacturer has not disclosed the specifications of the graphics accelerator, but it is known that it is based on the RDNA architecture and provides performance of 16.7 TFLOPS. For comparison, in the standard PlayStation 5 this figure is 10.28 TFLOPS.

From video bloggers it also became known that the PlayStation 5 Pro has not only 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory, but also 2 GB of DDR5 RAM, which are reserved to ensure the operation of the operating system. The maximum power consumption of the device is 390 W.

PlayStation 5 Pro sales will start on November 7. The first reviews of the device should appear on the Internet a day before.
