Nevertheless, the “ten” continues to lead the ranking of Microsoft operating systems by a wide margin. According to the latest data from Statcounter, Windows 11 is becoming increasingly popular, and the pace of its deployment is significantly accelerating. In October 2024, Microsoft’s OS increased its market share by 2.13 points and reached a record share of 35.55% of all PCs running Microsoft’s OS since its release. A year ago, the share of Windows 11 hovered around 26.17% for many months, sometimes falling even below this value.
As the popularity of Windows 11 grows, the “ten” is proportionally losing its market share. It is close to falling below 60% for the first time since September 2019. Today, according to Statcounter, about 60.95% of all Windows users use Windows 10.
