The popularity of official mod support in the fantasy role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to grow. Developers from Larian Studios reported on new successes of the initiative.
A patch with support for mods was released on PC on September 5th. In the first 48 hours, players installed more than 3 million modifications. By the release of the update on consoles on October 1, the figure exceeded 15 million, and three days later it reached 22 million.
However, popularity also has a dark side. In the message, Larian clarified that out of 50 million, more than 10 thousand downloads are for a mod that renames Withers to Bone Daddy.
Official mod support in Baldur’s Gate 3 includes the aforementioned manager and the BG3 Toolkit modding tool. The editor allows you to add new weapons, armor, classes, subclasses, spells, and the like to the game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 left early access on August 3, 2023 on PC (Steam, GOG), and subsequently reached Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Patches for the game will not end with the release of mod support: cross-play and cross-play are still expected in the project in the future photo mode
