Apple, as part of the presentation of MacBook Pro laptops on M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, announced that the action role-playing Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red will soon be released on Mac devices.
Following Apple, CD Projekt Red itself confirmed the information. As it became known, Cyberpunk 2077, along with the Phantom Liberty story add-on, will appear on Mac in early 2025.
The complete edition of Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on the Mac App Store and Steam. Owners of the game on Valve’s service will not have to purchase it again – users will be able to play on Mac without additional purchases.
Cyberpunk 2077 on Mac will receive support for path tracing, frame generation, and built-in spatial audio. According to CD Projekt Red, all this will make the gameplay more immersive and the graphics more impressive.
The announcement of Cyberpunk 2077 for Mac was not accompanied by any illustrative material. CDPR promised to reveal additional details, including the exact release date, later.
Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020 on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS), PS4 and Xbox One, and has since reached PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The Phantom Liberty expansion debuted in September 2023 only on PC and consoles current generation.
The addon is a spy thriller adventure about the protagonist’s service to the New United States of America along with agent Solomon Reed, played by actor Idris Elba.
