Fujitsu introduced the lightest laptop in the world – FMV Zero weighing only 634 grams

Fujitsu introduced the FMV Zero laptop, which it proclaimed to be the lightest in the world – its weight is only 634 grams. The manufacturer did not make almost any technical compromises for this – the computer is equipped with a 14-inch LCD display with WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) and received productive hardware.

The laptop is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U or Core Ultra 7 155U processor – these are last year’s Meteor Lake family chips, which are produced based on the Intel 4 process technology. The amount of RAM varies from 8 to 64 GB, and the solid-state drive can have a capacity from 256 GB to 2 TB. The manufacturer, unfortunately, did not specify how the components affect the weight of the computer.

The only compromise for the Fujitsu FMV Zero is the battery capacity, which is only 31 Wh – the battery is designed to last six hours of battery life for the laptop. You can choose the 64 Wh option, but in this case the weight of the computer increases to 888 g. Both options have dimensions of 308.8 × 209 × 15.8 mm – the minimum thickness value is indicated, the maximum is 17.3 mm.

The case has an RJ-45 connector, two USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-C, an HDMI port and a slot for microSD cards. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 modules are responsible for wireless communication. In the basic configuration, Fujitsu FMV Zero costs 197,900 yen ($1,300), in the top configuration it is twice as expensive. The laptop is sold only in the Fujitsu Japan online store.
