The recently released remake of the psychological horror game Silent Hill 2 from the Polish studio Bloober Team has already earned the approval of fans, but the team continues to refine the project – the first post-release patch has been released.
Update 1.04 (see the full list of changes on the Konami website) brought with it sought-after technical improvements, as well as fixes for particularly unpleasant (and sometimes funny) bugs.
Technical improvements for the PC version of the Silent Hill 2 remake include:
In terms of bugs, James will no longer teleport to the other side of the hole in Brookhaven Hospital, or fall through textures when approaching a building from the left side, or get stuck in the window frame next to Neely’s Bar.
The developers also improved the deformation of nurses’ skirts, made the hero’s movements when changing weapons while aiming more natural, and made the selection of items in the fight with the final boss more convenient.
According to Bloober Team, these improvements are the result of hard work with Konami and a response to user complaints/suggestions the team has received since release.
The remake of Silent Hill 2 was released on October 8 on PC (Steam) and PS5. The game has earned high marks from critics and users. Sales of the project in the first three days after release exceeded 1 million copies.
