The adventure The Wolf Among Us 2 has not been shown to the public for more than six months. A recent alarming message from a mysterious informant has added fuel to the fire of fan worries – however, it seems to be unfounded.
User Fabulous_Abrocoma_41, who appeared out of nowhere on Reddit, citing a source close to the development, said that Telltale (LCG Entertainment) is now in a difficult financial situation and may be forced to cancel the game.
Shortly after the publication of the message, Fabulous_Abrocoma_41 deleted his Reddit account, which, according to some, gave weight to the informant’s statement – perhaps Telltale got to him?
The situation was brought to the attention of the Eurogamer portal, whose journalists decided to ask Telltale for comment. The company usually avoids rumors, but in this case it decided to make an exception.
«We’ve made it a rule not to comment on rumors or unfounded claims from Reddit, but development on The Wolf Among Us 2 continues and we can’t wait to share more about the game when the time comes,” Telltale’s PR team said.
The Wolf Among Us 2 was presented at The Game Awards 2019 and, after the game switched to Unreal Engine 5, was not expected to be released until 2024. Last fall, “most” of the game’s developers were laid off.
The project is being created for PC (Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. It was reported that the game will be released in episodes and will tell the story in winter New York six months after the end of the first part.
