«Do you know what fear is? – asks the voiceover of Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey, who voiced a certain K.K. Orlev in Exodus. “They know Mara-Yama.” These monstrous Celestials feed on fear, delight in cruelty, and revel in the agony of their prey.

The authors call the Mara-Yama sadistic predators: “Unfortunately for their victims, the Mara-Yama are not so much interested in stealing cargo. They need minds, memories, emotions (the more twisted and tortured they are, the better). The caught prey is subjected to psychological torture and neurological depletion.”

Viewers were delighted with the cosmic horror elements in the Exodus trailer (players were especially terrified by the idea that the Mara-Yama were once human). Gamers have high hopes for the project. “The true spiritual successor to Mass Effect that we deserve,” says 4UGOY.

Exodus is being created for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. They promise a mixture of story-driven experiences, cinematic storytelling, wide freedom of action and AAA gameplay. The lead screenwriter is Drew Karpyshyn, known for his work on the first two Mass Effects. There is no release date yet.
