The cooperative adventure platformer It Takes Two from Electronic Arts and Hazelight Studios (A Way Out) was released more than three years ago, but continues to surprise creators and players with sales.
Let us remember that as recently as the end of March, on the third anniversary of the release, sales of It Takes Two reached 16 million copies, which, in turn, is 6 million more than the result as of February 2023.
As it became known, over the past seven months the game has recorded another 4 million copies. Thus, the total result of It Takes Two has now reached 20 million copies sold.
«You are the best fans in the world. The way you received our game is simply mind boggling! We are grateful to each of the millions and millions who enjoyed their time with Cody and May,” the developers shared.
It’s worth noting that It Takes Two is a strictly cooperative game. At the same time, one copy is enough to play together, so the total audience of the game is potentially twice as large as 20 million people.
It Takes Two tells the story of Cody and May, who decide to get a divorce, are turned into dolls and given the chance to save their relationship. The game supports local and online co-op.
It Takes Two was released on PC (Steam, EA App), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, as well as Nintendo Switch. As of May 2024, the Steam version of the game no longer requires the installation of the EA App and is fully compatible with Steam Deck.
