There is nothing left before the release of the hotly anticipated military shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Microsoft has once again deprived players of the opportunity to join the long-awaited release for less than usual.
Like all other blockbusters coming from Microsoft studios, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass from the day of release, and until recently you could join the service for just $1 (or the equivalent in local currency).
The trial period was two weeks (there was a month before 2023) and gave access to all the benefits of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, including launch games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
As journalists from The Verge reported, the cheap trial version of the subscription disappeared from sale on October 8 – 17 days (that is, only a little more than two weeks) before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
This is not the first time Microsoft has pulled off such a trick. Last fall, ahead of the release of the space role-playing game Starfield, the platform holder also briefly removed the Game Pass trial subscription from sale.
It is assumed that by adding Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to Game Pass, Microsoft management expects to spur the growth of the service’s audience – games in the series annually brought in hundreds of millions of dollars in net sales.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Battle.net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (Ultimate and PC Game Pass only). Recently, Activision revealed the final system requirements of the game.
