Vivo presented the flagship smartphones X200 Pro and the more compact X200 Pro mini. Both new products are built on the latest flagship processor from MediaTek, are also equipped with capacious batteries and will be available at retail in several configurations with different amounts of RAM and internal storage.
Both smartphones have a flatter design compared to the X100 series devices. The larger X200 Pro was equipped with a 6.78-inch display, curved on four sides, while the X200 Pro mini received a flat 6.31-inch display. We are talking about LTPO AMOLED panels with a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a peak brightness of 4500 cd/m² and support for Dolby Vision technology.
The smartphones boast a triple main camera with Zeiss T optics and a dedicated Vivo V3+ image processing chip, which is designed to handle complex tasks. The camera is built on a 1/1.28-inch 50 MP Sony LYT-818 sensor with f/1.57 aperture optics. It’s technically a step down from the 1-inch sensor found in the X100 Pro, but the developers claim the new sensor is competitive in still photography and better performing in video recording.
The Vivo V3+ chip brings support for 4K HDR portrait mode, which Vivo claims is the best in the industry. The camera can record 4K video at up to 120fps or 4K HDR Dolby Vision clips at up to 60fps. If that’s not enough, Vivo’s new flagships are capable of recording 4K video in “full focal range” with 10-bit color at up to 60 frames per second.
The real upgrade is the new 200-megapixel Zeiss APO periscope telephoto lens with an 85mm focal length and f/2.67 aperture. The main camera is complemented by a 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor (f/2.0). The front-facing 32-megapixel camera (f/2.0) is located in a hole at the top of the display.
The basis of the new Vivo smartphones is the powerful eight-core Dimensity 9400 microprocessor, which is manufactured using a 3 nm process technology and has a Cortex-X925 supercore with an operating frequency of up to 3.626 GHz. A 12-core graphics processor is responsible for graphics processing, which should provide high performance even in resource-demanding games. Another feature is the powerful batteries: the X200 Pro has 6000 mAh, and the X200 Pro mini has 5700 mAh. In both cases, support for fast wired charging up to 90 W and wireless charging up to 30 W is implemented.
The X200 Pro is available in Carbon Black, Titanium Grey, Moonlight White and Sapphire Blue, which display a pattern reminiscent of sea waves when exposed to light. At the same time, the X200 Pro mini in Titanium Green resembles the delicate greenery of nature, and in Light Pink, shades of cherry blossoms with a metallic texture. The back of the X200 Pro is covered with frosted glass.
Vivo X 200 Pro is available in versions with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB flash memory, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB ROM, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB ROM, as well as a special version with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB ROM with satellite communication support . The price of a smartphone starts at $750. The Vivo X200 Pro mini comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM, 16GB RAM and 512GB ROM, and 16GB RAM and 1TB ROM. The retail price of the smartphone starts at $665.
