Sony Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy Secret Director’s Cut Will Become a Paid DLC

Between the original game and the already confirmed sequel, Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software are rumored to be preparing something in between for fans of the open-world action RPG Hogwarts Legacy.

According to insider Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, a director’s cut is in development for Hogwarts Legacy, which was mentioned by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier in June.

According to Henderson, Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition (as the edition is supposedly called) will offer about 10-15 hours of additional content – new story and side quests, activities, appearances.

At the same time, following Sony with director’s cuts of its projects, Warner Bros. Games will sell Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition to owners of the original game for money – between $20 and $30, according to Henderson.

The release of Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition, says Henderson, should be expected throughout 2025. The official announcement of the publication should also be just around the corner.

Henderson’s sources report that the release of the Definitive Edition at Warner Bros. hope to smooth out the effect on the gaming division from the failure of the cooperative action movie Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Hogwarts Legacy was released last February on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and subsequently reached PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game became the best-selling game in 2023 worldwide – more than 24 million copies.
