Usually, spoilers in anticipation of the release of the expected release are distributed by the owners of early copies, but in the case of the recent remake of the horror game Silent Hill 2 from Bloober Team, the game itself threatened to spoil the impression for buyers.

As PC Gamer noted, on the eve of the full release, Konami and Bloober Team had to release an emergency patch for the updated Silent Hill 2, correcting the Italian localization of the game.

When the main character James Sunderland picks up the radio at the very beginning of the adventure, he hears a message from his wife Mary. The message was distorted beyond recognition, and the subtitles in most languages reflected this correctly.

At the same time, the Italian version of the remake of Silent Hill 2 before update 1,003,000 revealed in this moment the entire content of the message, which in fact contained spoilers for the main plot twist from the ending of the game.

Although the history of Silent Hill 2 is already 23 years old, out of respect for users unfamiliar with the plot of the original game, we officially warn that there will be serious spoilers further in the text.

James arrives in Silent Hill in search of his deceased wife Mary, but closer to the end it turns out that he himself killed her. Italian users learned about this from the subtitles to the wife’s message: “Why did you kill me?”

Despite the unfortunate, but now corrected, miscalculation of the Italian localizers, the remake of Silent Hill 2 collects “extremely positive” reviews (95%) on Steam. Critics also appreciated the game.
