Publisher and developer Capcom is in no hurry to reveal the release date of the remake of the cult horror game Resident Evil 2 on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPad and Mac, but it seems that Apple itself did it for the Japanese company.
Let us remind you that the transfer of the updated Resident Evil 2 to Apple devices was confirmed in June along with the version of Resident Evil 7, but did not even have an approximate release date until recently.
As it became known from a tweet from the official microblog of the series, the remake of Resident Evil 2 will be released on iPhone 15 Pro, iPad and Mac before the end of 2024. Following the announcement, the game page appeared in the App Store digital store.
Capcom does not disclose the exact release date for Resident Evil 2 on Apple devices, but potentially this information has appeared in the App Store – the game page states that the release will take place on December 31 (Tuesday).
Likewise, the App Store revealed a year ago when the Death Stranding director’s cut would be released on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPad, and Mac. Then the Apple digital store missed the mark by one day, but the release also fell on Tuesday.
Resident Evil 2 will run on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPads and Macs with a chip no worse than the M1. They promise a free prologue, MetalFX scaling, controller support, universal purchases and progress transfer.
The updated Resident Evil 2 will be Capcom’s fourth console release on the iPhone 15 Pro, although Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 remake on the platform failed to sell.
