The massive Fallout: Nuevo Mexico mod for the role-playing game Fallout: New Vegas, after several months of turbulent development, received its first new gameplay trailer in a long time.

The events of Fallout: Nuevo Mexico should unfold five years after the ending of the first Fallout. The three-minute trailer takes viewers to Mexico City, the largest location of the modification.

Once the fiery heart of a vast metropolis, Mexico City now lies in ruins, a battleground for factions fighting for dominance and survival. As it stands, the city is a “mesmerizing mixture of beauty and brutality.”

The video shows the landscapes of the Mexican wasteland accompanied by Latin American music of the 50s. The gameplay footage is accompanied by a speech from the leader of the local cartel about survival in the current circumstances.

Fans greeted the new Fallout: Nuevo Mexico trailer with delight and undisguised relief: production had to be suspended for several months in 2024 due to personal problems of the lead modder, but work continued in August.

The Fallout: Nuevo Mexico team notes that the project is far from finished, and the published video is intended to give viewers an idea of ​​what the team ultimately wants to achieve. Release dates have not been announced.

In addition to the Mexican setting, Fallout: Nuevo Mexico promises much of what modern games in the series lack (like traditional RPG elements and an emphasis on player decisions), an original soundtrack and character voice acting.
