The Kommersant newspaper noticed that the co-founder of My.Games and former operating director of Mail.ru Group Vladimir Nikolsky established a new gaming holding – Utmost Games.
According to Kommersant’s findings, Utmost Games is registered in Cyprus. The holding includes two other Cypriot companies – mobile game developer Top App Games and publisher Digital Vortex.
The co-founders of Top App Games are Nikolsky and the former head of Studio Nord Vladimir Markov, while the CEO and co-founder of Digital Vortex is the former head of Astrum Entertainment Alexey Izotov.
Top App Games is known for its work on the strategy Ludus: Merge Arena, and Digital Vortex’s portfolio includes projects such as Atomic Heart, Warface, World of Warships, Armored Warfare, Skyforge, Lost Ark and PUBG: Battlegrounds.
According to information on the official website, Utmost Games positions itself as a “leading European gaming holding company” created with the goal of helping studios and publishers around the world develop and achieve success.
A Kommersant source in the media market believes that Nikolsky needed the holding to unite all foreign assets (including the publishing house Wishlist Games with World War 3 and Armored Warfare) under one management company.
According to informants, Utmost Games was launched without third-party investors – with Nikolsky’s personal funds. Kommersant’s interlocutors estimate investments in the creation of Utmost Games at $20–40 million.
