The TYAN server brand has ceased to exist, and will now be replaced by MiTAC

Taiwanese company MiTAC Computing Technology, a subsidiary of MiTAC Holdings, announced the integration of the TYAN server brand with the MiTAC brand. From October 1, 2024, all products will be produced exclusively under the MiTAC brand. There will also be a new logo and an updated official website.

MiTAC entered the ODM server market in 1999. In 2007, it expanded its business by acquiring TYAN Computer: it began producing high-performance motherboards and barebone systems. Following the spin-off of MiTAC’s cloud computing division into a separate business in 2014, MiTAC Computing Technology was formed as a subsidiary of Mitac Holdings within the MiTAC-Synnex Group.

MiTAC Computing Technology President Rick Hwang notes that although MiTAC and TYAN serve different market segments, integrating them under one brand will optimize distribution strategies and help strengthen market positions. In 2023, MiTAC acquired Intel’s server manufacturing business, which, as noted, will further strengthen the Taiwanese company’s position in the relevant segment.

The process of consolidation of the MiTAC and TYAN brands has already been completed. In the foreseeable future, the company intends to develop a family of servers focused on AI workloads, including generative ones. Through brand unification, MiTAC aims to improve customer service across various industries.
