Motorola unveils ThinkPhone 25, a rugged smartphone with an aramid fiber body

Motorola has announced the ThinkPhone 25 smartphone, aimed, like the ThinkPhone model released last year, at corporate consumers. As GSMArena.com noted, the new device has a similar aesthetic and corporate focus to the ThinkPhone, but has received an updated list of specifications, very reminiscent of the characteristics of the Motorola Edge 50 Neo.

Motorola ThinkPhone 25 is equipped with a 6.36-inch pOLED LTPO screen with a resolution of 2670 × 1220 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 3000 cd/m2. The display supports HDR10+ and provides 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Durable Gorilla Glass 7i is used to protect against scratches.

Also reported is SGS Blue Light Reduction certification, which certifies reduced levels of eye-harming blue light, and SGS Motion Blur Reduction, which certifies the technology used to reduce blur.

The smartphone is powered by the Dimensity 7300 chipset coupled with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of uMCP flash storage.

On the rear panel there is a camera unit with a 50-megapixel main camera based on the Sony LYTIA 700C sensor with optical image stabilization, complemented by a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with support for macro photography, optical stabilization and autofocus.

High sound quality is provided by stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. There are also two microphones. The 4310 mAh battery supports 68 W fast wired charging and 15 W wireless charging. The dimensions of the smartphone are 154.1 × 71.2 × 8.1 mm, weight – 171 g.

The Motorola ThinkPhone 25 runs Android 14. Motorola promises 5 years of Android OS updates and security patches until 2029. Enterprise features extend to malware and phishing detection, as well as additional Wi-Fi security.

Like its predecessor, Motorola ThinkPhone 25 meets the IP68 standard for protection against moisture and dust, and has also passed MIL-STD 810H certification, confirming resistance to shocks and falls.

ThinkPhone 25 provides deep integration with Lenovo PCs and Motorola tablets, including automatic syncing, a shared keyboard and mouse, centralized notifications, and the ability to use the phone’s main camera as a webcam. Motorola also offers B2B customers Moto Device Manager, which provides IT departments with remote device management.

The smartphone is available in black with an aramid fiber back panel. The Motorola ThinkPhone 25 will go on sale in November for €499.
