AMD has released a new graphics driver package, Radeon Software Adrenalin 24.9.1 WHQL. It adds support for Frostpunk 2, God of War Ragnarok, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, as well as DirectX 11 updates for The Sims 4.
The manufacturer reported that the new driver also expanded support for graphics APIs in the AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF 2) frame generator. In particular, AFMF 2 can now be used with any games with OpenGLNEW, VulkanNEW, DirectX 11 and DirectX 12. In addition, AFMF 2 now has support for Radeon Chill technology, which reduces the power consumption of video cards. The feature automatically adjusts the frame rate depending on what’s happening on the screen. AFMF 2 is also optimized to work with the integrated graphics of Ryzen AI 300 processors.
The new driver has improved the functionality of the video geometric scaling function. It now provides higher quality images by reducing the amount of artifacts when playing video at a reduced resolution. Geometric video scaling is supported by integrated Radeon 800M graphics, as well as desktop and mobile Radeon RX 7000 and Radeon RX 7000M series graphics cards.
The new driver has expanded support for AMD Radeon Boost. It now works with Final Fantasy XVI. In addition, the new software version has expanded support for the HYPR-RX feature set (enabling AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution and AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 with the click of a button). In particular, automatic settings and inclusion of AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 with the frame generator have been added in Black Myth: Wukong, Creatures of Ava, Frostpunk 2 and God of War Ragnarok. Also added automatic AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 settings for the Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima.
