Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer announced from the virtual stage of Tokyo Game Show 2024 that a Game Pass subscription will soon be replenished, which will delight fans of the StarCraft sci-fi strategy series from Blizzard Entertainment.
As it became known, on November 5, StarCraft: Remastered and the StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection will be available to all users with a PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
The online component of both projects is distributed free of charge, while the single-player component of StarCraft costs $15, and for the collection of story campaigns for the second part they are asking $40.
StarCraft: Remastered is an updated version of the cult strategy from Blizzard, released in 1998. The re-release debuted in August 2017 and includes the Brood War expansion.
StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection, meanwhile, contains over 70 missions from Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void (with the Nova Covert Ops expansion), released between 2010 and 2015.
The games in the series tell the story of a grand battle for the fate of the Koprulu sector in the 25th century between three diverse factions – the Terrans (humans), the insect-like Zerg and the technologically advanced Protoss.
Almost nine years have passed since the completion of the StarCraft 2 trilogy (and a little less than four since the end of its active support). There is still no new release on the horizon, although the former president of Blizzard believes in the return of the series.
