Vivo today launched several new smartphones in India. One of the new products is the Vivo V40e model. The device follows the design language of the V40 and V40 Pro launched last month and features a curved 6.67-inch OLED screen and dual rear cameras with support for Vivo’s Aura Light portrait camera system.

The V40e is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor (four Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of up to 2.5 GHz, four Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of up to 2.0 GHz and a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU). The smartphone offers 8 GB of RAM, as well as 128 or 256 GB of storage. The device does not have the ability to increase the amount of permanent memory.

The smartphone display supports a resolution of 2392 × 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 4500 cd/m2. On the front of the device there is a 50-megapixel camera peephole based on a 1/2.76-inch sensor with autofocus support and the ability to shoot video in 1080p at 30 frames per second.

The main camera block of the smartphone consists of a 50-megapixel IMX882 sensor measuring 1/1.95 with support for optical stabilization and an 8-megapixel module for ultra-wide-angle shooting. The main camera can shoot video in 4K.

The smartphone runs Android 14 with the proprietary FuntouchOS 14 shell. Vivo promises three years of OS updates and four years of security updates for the device. The V40e’s specifications also list a 5,500 mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

Vivo V40e will be available in Mint Green and Royal Bronze colors. The cost of the device in India starts from about $347 for the model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. In a configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, the smartphone is priced at approximately $370. The new product is already available for pre-order. Open sales of the smartphone will begin on October 2.
